A World

Open your eyes. The sky is thin and blue. When you look too far down, it disappears. Friends have gathered on the lawn. Lines run through your head, they tell of intrigue. Love and hate, jokes and boredom swirl together. Billboards show you what you need. Your curiosity pulls you across the landscape; photographs like memories are paved into the road. Snatches of conversations blow past like winds. The atmosphere here is ephemeral. You scratch messages into the sand, but soon they are blown into forgetfulness, like everything else here. Inevitably, you leave confused, ready to shut your eyes again.
